Why You'll Love This
Because it’s basically apple pie à la mode—without the pie. This creamy, cinnamon-spiced Ninja Creami ice cream hits all the cozy fall notes with barely any effort. You toss everything in a blender, freeze it, and let the machine work its magic.
It’s sweet, creamy, and full of warm apple pie flavor. The best part? You can sneak in cottage cheese for a little protein boost, and no one will ever know. It’s quick, cozy, and guaranteed to make your kitchen smell like fall (minus the baking).
Ingredients
Here’s what you will need:
- Half and Half: Keeps the base creamy without being too heavy.
- Cottage Cheese: Adds protein and smooth texture (you’ll never taste it!).
- Sweetened Condensed Milk: Sweetens and softens the texture.
- Vanilla Extract: Rounds out the flavor.
- Cinnamon + Sea Salt: Brings the fall spice and balances the sweetness.
- Monk Fruit: Just to sweeten it a bit more. This is optional.
For the Mix-ins:
- Apple: Fresh or sautéed apples add that pie-like texture and flavor.
- Graham Crackers: Crumbled for that classic pie crust feel.
- Butter: Helps caramelize the apples when sautéing.
- Brown Sugar: Enhances the apple’s natural sweetness.
- Cinnamon: A bit of spice to bring out the fall flavors.
See recipe card for quantities.
Instructions
- Blend the Base: Add half and half, cottage cheese, vanilla extract, cinnamon, sea salt, and condensed milk to a blender. Blend until smooth. I used my Vitamix blender for this step to make sure everything was perfectly creamy.
- Pour into Container: Once blended, pour the mixture into your Ninja CREAMi pint container, and freeze for at least 24 hours.
- Make the Mix-ins: While the base is freezing, sauté your apple pieces in butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Set them aside to cool before adding them to the ice cream.
- Run the CREAMi Cycle: After the base is frozen, pop the pint into the Ninja CREAMi, and use the "Ice Cream" setting.
- Add the Mix-ins: Once the cycle is complete, add your apple mixture and crushed graham crackers into the ice cream using the "Mix-in" setting.
- Scoop and enjoy!
Topping and Mix-in Suggestions
- Caramel Drizzle: Adds extra sweetness and a rich, buttery flavor that pairs perfectly with the cinnamon.
- Crumbled Ginger Snaps: For added spice and crunch.
- Favorite Nuts: Toasted pecans or toasted walnut add a nutty crunch that complements the apple pie flavors.
- Whipped Cream: A classic topping for a pie-inspired ice cream.
- Apple Butter: Swirl in for an extra layer of apple goodness.
How to Make a High-Protein Apple Pie Cinnamon Ice Cream
This ice cream is already high in protein thanks to the cottage cheese base. It adds creaminess and a little boost without changing the flavor.
If you want to pack in even more, here are two easy upgrades:
Option 1: Use High-Protein Milk
Swap out the half-and-half for a high-protein milk like Fairlife Vanilla Milk. This option keeps the ice cream creamy and delicious while adding extra protein.
Option 2: Add Protein Powder
Add a scoop of vanilla-flavored protein powder to your ice cream mixture. Blend it in to make sure it mixes smoothly with the other ingredients.
Equipment
- Vitamix Blender: For blending the ice cream base until smooth and creamy.

Recipe FAQ
Swap the half-and-half for full-fat coconut milk and the condensed milk for coconut condensed milk. Use dairy-free cookies instead of graham crackers.
Definitely. Make two separate pints so each freezes evenly. Overfilling one container can cause uneven spinning.
Yes! Drain off excess syrup and chop the apples before adding. It saves time and still gives great flavor.

Notes
- Make sure to freeze the base for a full 24 hours before spinning — that’s the key to a creamy texture. Blend everything until perfectly smooth so there aren’t any tiny cottage cheese bits hiding in there.
- If your apples are warm, let them cool completely before mixing in or they’ll make the ice cream refreeze unevenly. And don’t worry about extra protein powder — the cottage cheese already gives this plenty of protein on its own.
- If the texture looks crumbly after the first spin, just hit Re-spin once or twice until it turns silky. For an extra-smooth scoop, you can mix in a tablespoon of maple syrup or corn syrup before freezing to keep it from crystallizing.
- Always add your mix-ins like apples or graham crackers after the last spin using the Mix-in setting. Store any leftovers right in the Ninja Creami pint, tightly covered. When you’re ready for another scoop, let it sit out for five minutes, then Re-spin — good as new.
